The name Franoir comes from the playful combination of the names of the two grape varieties that comprise this cuvée. The two grapes are harvested almost simultaneously, therefore, we can blend them in the must stage and they become an organic whole during the co-fermentation process. The hints of strawberry and cherry come from Pinot Noir, while Blue Frankish adds some seriousness to this coupage. We like to experiment with the grape varieties to create a unique style for our wines. We have been making rosé and red wines by combining these two varieties since 2011 with the primary aim of retaining the nose and the flavour. Learn more about our 2012 Franoir Rosé.
